A sensible strategy, but this time it's not Apollo.

There are a number of gods/goddesses shown erecting a trophy, but I think this one is Pan.

I posted this coin once before, but didn't have it identified. With help at Forvm I now have it. Try to guess both parts of the name. The attribute for the second part is there, but faint.

Looks similar to this one sold by Ancient Imports, so my guess is Zeus Ammon.

Thanks, Doucet. I'm learning. Playing GTE and GTG has really escalated my learning curve-- starting to get a feel for the type of coin and I have lots of bookmarks for browsing. I've looked at many thousands of coins playing these games and it's starting to sink in. A piecemeal way to learn but it's fun! I also bookmark interesting potential subjects for GTE and GTG as I search. Speaking of, here's the next one...

No one interested? Or are you stumped?
It's a Roman Provincial and the thing depicted is a cult statue, if that helps.

OK, looks like someone in a temple holding a labrys, I would say Zeus.

Zeus it is. About the cult statue, from numiswiki: Quote: Zeus Labraundos
Labraunda is located 14 km from the modern town of Milas, in southwestern Turkey. The earliest evidence for the cult of Zeus Labraundos dates to the middle of the 7th century BC. The cult statue of Zeus Labraundos was, according to a surviving inscription, a gift bestowed by Hecatomnus, the founder of the Hekatomnid dynasty of Karian satraps. This statue was a standing Zeus with a tall lotus-tipped scepter upright in his left hand and a double-headed axe, a labrys, over his right shoulder. Most of the monumental marble buildings at the site were erected by in the 4th century BC. The famous Maussollos is among these. The origin of the cult of the god of the double axe goes back to the worship of Tarhunt, the Hittite god of Heaven. From acsearch Quote: Source Heritage Auctions, Inc.
