Actually, I received both envelopes the same day. And I live about an hour's drive NE of Markham. But you're right - most of those blank envelopes are just mass junk mail.

lyradnoj, Since I don't have much experience on eBy, could you please explain to me why there was no stamp (or unstamped stamps) on the envolopes? Is it because tha he delivered it himself or something? Also, could someone please tell me about the reputation (sounds mysterious) of asyn?

Petersun, I have no idea how the stampless envelope arrived. They both arrived on the same day, but were posted several days apart. As to asyn himself - which is actually a company I think - he's probably the biggest volume coin dealer on ebay based in Canada anyway. No one is entirely sure where he gets his product, he's always got a minimum of 1,000 coins up for auction at any time, and his grading is, shall we say, optimistic? The pictures of his coins aren't the best either, and some people are dissatisfied with what they receive. Definitely caveat emptor, but I daresay there are few here who have never bought something from asyn. As for me, he has what I want, at a price I'm willing to pay for it, and usually when I want it.

I have gotten a few coins from Asyn but I look at the pictures very closely before bidding... The coins are usually nice looking but usually scratched or marked when looking closer... But the price is good usually...

I always check both pictures of any coin. Often you find the scratches are in the same place on both sides, indicating they're on the glass of the scanner, not the coin itself.

Maybe he makes a bit of profit by selling coins for people who don't know anything about them? That's my guess.
