I am writing a web page on reverse types that were issued by only one Roman emperor. Just by looking at the reverse you can know who issued the coin. http://esty.ancients.info/unique/unique.htmlBefore I spend a lot more time expanding it I would like to get feedback about the format. Maybe you have suggestions for making it better. I solicit your comments.

One suggestion though is that you could separate the different coins. As all the denarii together ect.

If you are talking about Roman Emperors I must confess I don't believe I know enough to say with certainty that X emperor is the only emperor to issue a reverse. I marvel at your idea and see the utility as another means of narrowing identification of coins. Kudos, Warren! I don't know if this counts..but its recognizable to this emperor.

Yes, it is. A common, but highly desirable type and in nice shape to boot!

You know I was thinking, I think you could further your efforts by using reverse types to identify cultures or rulers throughout history. I know that is a daunting task but I think you're up to the challenge...

Sadistic as he was, he is one of my favorite emperors. I only knew 3 of them you put up. Are they yours, if so that is a FANTASTIC set.

This looks to be a useful site in time. We will have to add it to our sticky when it is finished.

Interesting. Just an observation you made a 'typo'. The Nerva denarius should read EXERCITVVM with 2 VV

I think Hadrian was the only emperor to use this reverse.......AEGYPTOS RIC 839, As HADRIAN AE As. HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, draped bust right / AEGYPTOS, Egypt reclining left and holding sistrum, left elbow resting on basket of grain, ibis on column at feet. Cohen 113.

Oops! I need to take my Numerian down. Eddop shows (above) that Carinus used it too. Thanks for the correction.

I wouldn't take it down. The Carinus is the only specimen I know, probably a mistake. Ed
