Yes, it is. A common, but highly desirable type and in nice shape to boot!

You know I was thinking, I think you could further your efforts by using reverse types to identify cultures or rulers throughout history. I know that is a daunting task but I think you're up to the challenge...

Sadistic as he was, he is one of my favorite emperors. I only knew 3 of them you put up. Are they yours, if so that is a FANTASTIC set.

This looks to be a useful site in time. We will have to add it to our sticky when it is finished.

Interesting. Just an observation you made a 'typo'. The Nerva denarius should read EXERCITVVM with 2 VV

I think Hadrian was the only emperor to use this reverse.......AEGYPTOS RIC 839, As HADRIAN AE As. HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, draped bust right / AEGYPTOS, Egypt reclining left and holding sistrum, left elbow resting on basket of grain, ibis on column at feet. Cohen 113.

Oops! I need to take my Numerian down. Eddop shows (above) that Carinus used it too. Thanks for the correction.

I wouldn't take it down. The Carinus is the only specimen I know, probably a mistake. Ed

I added several more "unique" reverse types to the page: http://esty.ancients.info/unique/unique.htmlClick on the link at the top of the page to go straight to the new ones. If you enjoy testing your knowledge of ancient Roman coins, check it out. If you enjoy increasing your knowledge of ancient Roman coins, check it out.

Hi Augustus1 Maybe this reverse-type is also one for your website. I think only Carausius has issued such a reverse It's not a beauty, I know... but it's rare. The reverse is showing: Half-length bust of Fortuna right, holding olive branch, flower behind, all within laurel-wreath. Kind regards, Victorioso

It would be possible to build a very nice collection of the 'this Emperor issued these only' series of Philip (244 - 249). Rome celebrated it's 1,000th year during this reign.
