In an earlier post today, I learned that I can be fooled by Master Die Doubling posing as a DD. I just wanted to make sure that I have learned my lesson in that this might also be an example of Master Die Doubling. It looks like a 1DO-003 to me, but I am a little gun-shy after today's lesson and I feel it's wishful thinking on my part. Please help me identify this correctly. All opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.
That is 1971P-1DO-003. The die scratches on the left side of "R" on TRUST is a match. Other markers I don't see as your coin was struck before the example on coppercoins. Nice find. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=lds
And just for educational purposes...master die doubling is a true doubled die, they are just so common as to be not worth saving. Nice find on the 71 DDO !
