According to the New Charlton Volume 2 (collector and Maple Leaf issues) that just cam out, 3,207 were sold. There is no COA inside the folder.

The premium price is on the gold-plated rattle, which is much scarcer...

For a set that was originally selling for $35 the bidding on e-bay is fetching easily in excess of $200 in the last six months. I missed my opportunity to buy it for around $120 a year or so ago.

At least there are a few of the silver ones going around. The gold one is relatively sparsely listed but the price on e-bay has stayed about the same in the last year.

Is there a relationship between scarcity and price. Well for the 2007 baby varieties:

2007 silver rattle - quantity sold 3207 & selling for $200-300 on ebay
2007 gold rattle - quantity sold 1911 & selling for $500-600 on ebay
2007 block - quantity sold 3229 & selling for $ 1000+ on ebay (hardly available)

Clearly the 2007 baby silver loonie statistics seem to defy the logic that more scarcer the higher the price.

Now I must wait to trade my 2007 wedding for a 2007 block and 2007 silver rattle.

Call me a crazy loon.

Last gold plated rattle sold for almost 800$ (going up I guess) and what intrigues me the most is that the ABC has 1.5 times the mintage of the gold rattle and kind of the same for the silver rattle and the blocks. the rattles pop pretty often on ebay, but the blocks almost never ... Why ? Not cool. And I was lucky enough to pick the wedding for 700 2-3 months ago and was so happy ... Was really surprised to see one go for 400, WoWoWoW !

It's taken me sometime but after reading this post I checked all around post offices in my area. All I got out of it was some bad take out and an empty gas tank.
Nice find
