I bought this a few years ago as a plain 1869. Started putting together the Dansco 7101 and was dreading laying out the cash for the 69/9. Checked it and I believe it is possibly a 69/9. What do y'all think? Also, are there more than one variety of over date or recut date for the year. If so, which one is the dansco/redbook generally referring to?

Look for something similar on the 6. Rick Snow recently sold a VF-30 example (his grade; NGC called it XF45) for $700....

You, sir, are a winnar.

The 6 does have a doubling/recutting, but to a much lesser degree. I have suspected for a few months, but I guess I'll consider this official confirmation. Now I can feel comfortable about this coin occupying the 1869/69 slot! I am a happy camper! I was concerned because some references say it is a1869/9. Nothing about the six. Is there a difference?

Nope; it's Snow-3 either way and just differs in how people describe it.

That 69/69 took me awhile to acquire but finally got it. I found a 67/67 that I bought thinking that was the one I needed and when I went to plug it in to its hole it was a " doh " moment. I have a really sweet 67 though lol.

I just put a 67/67 in my 1867 slot and noted it with a sharpie. Not as neat as I would like but it looks ok.

Beats me. There's nothing in the usual place that stuff ends up (you know).
