Here's my Restoration Man - King Edward the Confessor of England. This is a "pointed helmet type" silver penny (circa 1053-1056): Edward the Confessor restored English rule to London after it had been occupied by the Danes, he restored an old monastery by the Thames and re-founded it as a Benedictine Abbey, creating Westminster Abbey, one of the world's most famous churches. In building the new Abbey and Palace at Westminster he indirectly restored London to the position it had held in Roman times as capital city of England, although the official transfer of the capital from Winchester did not come until after his death in 1066.

Both M.Aurelius and Alexander the Great both spent much time waging war in order to restore greatness to their empire. (And revive their respective economies)
