Some People can see these like coins with Xtra Material. But if you put attention. The same picture it's coming in many Jefferson nickel. In other words It's part of the Die it self.

The dies are suffering die chips and cracks. They are not part of the die material. If they were part of the die material, it would be progressive. That is not the case in your images. The same pattern is happening because the die was chipping. There is the same amount of metal as a normal coin would have have, unless there were actually pieces of the die present.

Yes. A chip out of the die will leave a raised area.

The pattern is the same from coin to coin in the images. It would be die chips as it continues with use. Later more die chips could appear as the die continues to crumble away.

On a 2008P the initials on the reverse would be FS, which are present on the opposite side of the building.

My friend JJHFL. In a 2008 P Jefferson nickel were used TWO DESIGNERS FOR THE OBERSE. And ONE FOR THE REVERSE.

JNF and DW are located in two different areas for this design. The area were the DW must have been the area if chipped out.
