Hi guy's I'm new on here so go easy with me! lol

Ok now for the serious stuff. I have a 1944 50cent that the Unicorn on the right is holding the horizontal tail of the 4 with it's hoof. Is this normal or some kind of error? I don't have another 1944 fifty to compare it against so I'm stumped!
Appreciate any comments.

I believe a piece like this is silver. Though the Canadian mint minted with a diff. comp. of silver than the US, I would definitely consider this a keeper, variety or not.
