Wow, RCM is going all out to promote these coins.
An unveiling at Yonge and Dundas square?

Even if you don't like the novelty of these coins I'm sure they'll be sold out quickly with the advertising and hype going on.

Can't remember the mint doing this much promo since the first GITD dino coin.

Yeah I got the same email. I wasn't sure If my son would be interested in superman because he's not as current as some others out there, But surprisingly my son is. When he saw the email he was excited. And that will probably enough for me to buy him a coin. Maybe even one for myself because I use to watch Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman growing up

The Silver Snail comic book store is just north of Dundas. Buy a coin and a comic.

Got this email too.
It speaks about "opportunity to see", doesn't mentioned something about sale.

But IMO - RCM could sell there not a few of these (coins)

The gold coin sounds very nice. I wonder if it well sell out, that is, is it worth the plunge?

On the pictures, gold one was an "average".
Not eye catching.
It kind of "painted on the gold"

maybe just, this my opinion, since I more like the view silver coin surface.

Didn't get the invite to Yonge/Dundas square either. I wonder what the criteria for getting invited is?
Feeling kind of left out....LOL

IMO, random selection of the customers in close geographical area.

That's what I was thinking too.
I'm not too far though. I'm in Whitby.
Maybe no love for the 905.

Don't need an invite to attend. They just tweeted:

" Royal Canadian Mint ‏@CanadianMint
Super excited for the unveiling of the #Superman75 coin series? Join us at noon, Sept 9 at Yonge-Dundas Square (Toronto) for the big reveal!"

BTW, they rarely (if ever) sell anything at these photo ops. They have them for almost every new theme coin. Being in Ottawa, I get lots of invitations mostly because they are trying to get a crowd together for the media.

I also heard about this from my coin dealer. Since Yonge-Dundas square is open, I doubt they would prevent interested parties from at least looking at the coins and taking a photo of the 3D chalk drawing of Superman. If they're selling coins, they might limit sales to those with invitations. But at least a little window shopping might be permitted.

I'm on the fence about going. I'm near the area, but think the lunch hour unveiling would be quite chaotic.
