Quote: CC-Ottawa Posted - Today 18 Min ago I had to stare at the image for a few second to figure out what I was supposed to be seeing. The thing has to look better in hand than that photo so I will order a few but not the limit. Same here. The fish is almost covering his face. I prefer the picture of the box.

Will order just one. It seems to be not bad designed. Except this, the last Grizzle on the coin apeared on the "Coin and Stamp" set and on the one of the "Parks" coins - so this looks much better.
Btw, with the issue of the second coin, doesn't suppose the Bison start raising in price?

I ordered just one too lol, I kinda went over board on the first ones and got 10 of them, if I want more of the second coins I can always get more later on as this series was not a big hit like I thought it might be.

I agree I don't like the design as much as the last one - seems to be too busy..

It does not look as nice as the Bison coin.
My rep already reserved 10 for me without asking me, the same amount I bought last time.
I will likely cut it down to 5.

Wow. That design is WAY to busy. I want to complete the set so I kinda need to buy it but if it was not a series I would not spend that money.

Maybe I'm wrong but wasn't the $100 for $100 supposed to be a "wildlife in motion" series? Seems a bit of a stretch that the grizzly is actually "in motion" like the Bison? Thoughts? Ordered 1 but might add 1 more. Edit: Just figured it out by looking at the pic again, it's a Salmon in motion coin with a Grizzly in it!

Personally I think the coin is well designed. Most bear themed coins from the RCM, be it polar or grizzly, feature static poses over minimal backgrounds, all rather diminishing of the massive bears' raw power. This $100 grizzly is playful, detailed down to the wet fur on its underside, and, I feel, true to form, in motion. Just looking at it gives on a sense that if you blink your eye you'd see the bear round its turn, the waters splash, and the salmon gasp its last breath. My only reservation is about how the frosting, if any, is applied on the actual coin, and how it would compare to the very well done first $100 for $100. Whether this design ends up being too busy, or just right will fall on layering of the finish.

@ cowboy905. I meant Grizzly in the picture, not actually in the Salmon. LOL.
Don't get me wrong, I do like the coin and I can see how it is in motion a little bit. I guess the Bison Stampede coin made we think the others in the series would have the animals running/stampeding/flying in groups.

i hate the fact that they are in different boxs, so much for continuity.. I wonder if they would send you boxs if you asked, any one have any idea..

I welcome the new box design, but also agree changing the box after the series has started is not the best decision. Let's hope the Mint won't change the design again.
BTW, my rep just told me from now on, there will be two "$100 for $100" every year.
