They can be a great source of finds. I have dug a Peace dollar, 2-cent piece, countless silver coins over 100 y.o., and many other old coins and artifacts. I avoid the diamond, (for obvious reasons) and concentrate on the grassy outfield. Many rural ballfields date back over 100 years. When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Bassmaster Pillar of the Community United States 1130 Posts	Posted 11/17/2013 12:20 pm Very nice! Those bottles are nice. Are you sure that is not a pocket watch? It looks like one to me. If you go to a ball field, you should try around the stands too. Not close enough that the bleachers will mess with your detector, but around them. You also may want to make sure you stick to a lower grade field. If you get on a serious field, it doesn't matter how good you cover up your holes, if a coach catches you there, he will be mad.
