Just tried to proceed with demo-purchase of Piedfort. Reached till Credit card details with success and stopped. I afraid to mess it with the order that I placed (since it 1 per household).

Thanks commems! Out of curiosity, I visited the mint.ca site to see what the commotion is. What's weird is, for the first time ever, I can view all the new releases and even add them to my cart, yet I'm not an MC member. Cannot complete checkout though...

I noticed that three of the new coins - two Christmas coins and the Cyprus Peacekeeping commemorative - feature colour enameling. Coming on the heels of the enameled Superman Shield coin, we might be looking at the RCM's new "favorite" form of bedazzlement for its coins. Time will tell...

After 4 or 5 attempts and getting this message: 1 oz. Fine Silver High Relief Piedfort Coin - 25th Anniversary of the Silver Maple Leaf - Mintage: 10,000 (2013) - insufficient inventory to proceed. I finally got this message: Your order was submitted successfully!

I'm still waiting to receive mine (Ordered it in June and it's on "backorder".) That's funny, I'm waiting for the "Shield" as well...

Just got home and my rep has confirmed via email that I have a Piedfort and CandyCane. My two eagles are confirmed via the website as I had instructed my Rep to get me two of these a couple weeks ago. It looks like it will be two separate orders. The reps are great and I sort of stumbled across mine. His initials are PG and I wonder if anyone else has him. Not sure why the email preorder form I received yesterday didn't have the Eagles . How do you miss a coin from the release?

Quote: they started even prior "Shield" this year with enameling It started even before 2013. The RCM enameled four different commemorative silver dollars in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010. Here's a link to the post I did on them last year: https://goccf.com/t/128099&whichpage=1. I believe three enameled coins in one release is another "first" for the RCM, however. Such coins may become common in future releases as well. If the designers at the RCM can contain themselves and use the enameling as a highlight vs. the primary design feature, I believe it could work out well. For example, I think the blue enameling on the new Peacekeeping coin is tasteful and attractive.

That's funny, I'm waiting for the "Shield" as well... That's not funny, those backorders at RCM. The "Imressions" sure available for issue at dealers and the "Shield"....contact them and ask, "was it shipped?" I believe, they tried to ship all the Superman related coins very fast, got mine week ago.

If anybody is in the Toronto downtown area and willing to pick up a coin, I can try to buy the Piedfort for you online and pass it to you at list price, as I've no interest in purchasing one for myself. I know these are only 1 per household and seem to be quite a hit here.
If you're interested, just message me.

I'm thinking the mint has gone on strike or they are under siege by angry customers. The website isn't working properly, and I tried calling the regular main number and I got a an unintelligible three word recorded message and then a busy signal. Happened three times in a row.
I hear an angry mob carrying pitchforks and torches was seen marching along the Rideau canal towards fortress mint. Mr. Bennett has escaped to Gatineau disguised as Pauline Marois wearing a hi-jab.
To be contiuned...

I had the worst time ever ordering from RCM website, It took over 2 hrs to finally get my Piedfort order in. The web crashed & still messed up after getting back up. After countless attempts & all kinds of things like insufficent quantity & asking for my CC security code time & time again, I was finally successful in order one. The US Mint website crashed in a similar fashion during the opening of the 2011 Silver Eagle set. I still think if you stick with a bull mentality during ordering frenzies such as these, you will succeed. Maybe some Feng Shui rubbing off?

The mistakes they seem to make (no eagles on preorder form, maple box or not for the fractional set) makes me question their quality control. Don't they have communications and marketing people who review all this stuff? Seems a little bush league to me.
