Coinhooked, if you have a rep, he/she sends out an email the day before MC release. You order directly through them and they get a commission on your orders. They give you their direct line and email so you can order either way through them.

Benefit is one day earlier ordering than MC and higher limits on coins, usually. They will also sometimes give you a "scoop" on what's coming up and other tidbits.

If you buy enough, you'll eventually get an email from one.

Thanks SoulBrotherNo.3, I was wondering how that works. I have been buying for years & MC member for going on 2 yrs. but have never received advanced notice such as this or contacted by a rep. Maybe for Canadian residents only to have a rep. I never really checked on that, and am happy with what I get generally from RCM or CP.

249.95 for the new silver set and mintage 9999. First, the price is ridiculous, second, the mintage is too high... I think the only one I'll buy is the piedfor, the other one looks good, but candy cane is just another murano glass, it's not a first time issue with this kind of technologie and the other one looks the same year over year... Also the price for the other coins are too high...

Oh man, just noticed a purchase limit of 1 on the Piedfort right away!! I guess they're expecting it to be popular.

The fractional set looks really good. I just wish it was $200 like last years fractional set.

Limit of 3 for the Glass Candy Cane and the Holiday Candle coin too.

Going to be an expensive month.....

It's ridiculous, they put the 1 oz design of the maple leaf gold plate this year and put it on a 5 oz coins... 549.95! I have this 1 oz coins and it's so ordinary... But those crazy flipper will buy it anyway...

Coinhooked, I'm pretty sure there are folks on these boards that are from the U.S. and have reps.

I'm sure someone will confirm.........

MC with rep seems to require >5k per year in spending but there is no geographical requirement.

My rep is suggesting that several of this release will sell out today, some in the next two days and the rest in the next month. Seems optimistic.

Based on prior Venetian coins, the chances of the Candy Cane arriving by Christmas are not good.

The fractional set is very nicely done. The gold plating is not only on the leaves but also the rim of the coin - much like the 1kg from 2012. http://colonialacres.com/products.p...w=44205&ref=

The current set is reverse proof finish though so not quite as nice as the larger proof coin but much less expensive. Still, I think the set deserved a nicer display box.

I just also noticed the "Partridge In A Pear Tree" coin.

Could this be a first in series of the 12 days of Christmas song?
Partridge in a pear tree is the first gift in the song.

Edit: Rep just confirmed it is NOT a new series.

Guys, what the RCM mentioned as the reason for this Fractional set issue.
Again 25 years Anniversary of SML?
And which Queen's profile is on the coin (set and Piedfort) - from the 1988 or current?

The set will be nice, but I will skip - do not see reason for additional $50 with the same bulky display case.

So Piedfort coin will be the choice....Is it 1oz 34mm diameter?
Perth Mint does their "High Relief" coins 32mm in diameter, so they really look thick.

I think some coins would 'sell out' today for MC rep allotment. There will be some for MC online orders... as for some of the coins lasting until regular orders. Your guess is as good as mine.

I agree. The large clamshell box make it looks so ordinary and cheap

Notice the prices keep rising, as mentioned the two sets are okay but the boxes are a turn off. I guess if we keep buying the RCM will just keep raising the price. Some of the themes like the 5 oz. maple leafs are overdone.

Old effigy on the piedfort and current on the set.

Thanks CC-Ottawa!

That's good, since on the first (do not count Snowflake and Toonie) Piedfort the effigy is current.

Piedfort was suppose to be 1.25 oz, is it listed as this or just 1 oz?
