PEI penny New Member Canada 22 Posts	Posted 01/23/2014 6:36 pm Spikey Norman... the 25 ore coins were removed and devalued from circulation in the late 1980s at the same time the 5 ore coins were done away with. When I was there in 1988, I didn't see any in circulation. Sadly, the last Ã¸re coins (50 Ã¸re) were removed from circulation last year I believe, so Norway no longer has any accepted Ã¸re coins in circulation or accepted. Norway did away with the 50 Ã¸re coin (about 9 Canadian cents) in spring 2012, Denmark still has one (about 10c). Sweden also has the 1 krona (17c) coin as the smallest piece, and in Finland it's the 5 cent coin (7Â½c) ... Christian Report this Post to the Staff

PEI penny New Member Canada 22 Posts	Posted 01/24/2014 10:25 am Not that it matters now as all but one of the animal denominations have been retired (assuming they retained the animal designs until now), but always hated how Norway went from some of the nicest and original yet simple designs in the 1960s to some of the plainest, ugliest, boring coins in the 1970s.
