quote: Laos 50 Kip (not in Catalogue)
The Schön catalog lists two coins that were issued on that occasion: a 10 kip (CuNi) coin, and your 50 kip (Ag) coin. The catalog numbers are 63 (10 kip) and 64 (50 kip); no images in the book though. Christian

I have just found the photo of the Solomon Island 20 cent coin. Here it is. By the way we have all of these coins available far below catalogue price but I cannot sell them here because I do not yet have 50 posts. Image: solomon9520centobv.jpg12.03 KB Image: solomon9520centr.jpg12.73 KB

I'm also a one of each KM# kind of collector. Focusing on post-1900 for obvious reasons. I just find that keeping an accurate listing is the hardest part.

I have some coins from a variety of countries, but my actual collections are mainly U.S., British Victoria and British Conder Tokens.

I collect any coin that I can get my hands on. I also agree with snowman, any coin with a fish on it is an automatic keeper.

Since we're talking foreign coins. Are there any gold coins with fish on them?

Snowman I did not include that coin because your original question was what other FAO coins apart from that one do not appear in Krause.

The following Gold FAO coins have fish on them.
Liberia 2 dollars 1984 KM 47b Longneck Croaker fish Cape Verde 50 Escudos 1984 KM22b White Sea Bream Uruguay 20 New Pesos 1984 KM 86b (not sure which fish)
In addition there is a turtle on Somalia 25 shillings 1984 KM40b
and a Spiny Lobster on Maldives 5 Ruffiyya 1078 KM 57b
Some of the above had very few pieces minted and the only ones I have seen are from Maldives.
In my collection I have the CN versions and the SIlver Proof Piedfort versions which were issued in collectors sets for the World Fisheries Confernce in 1984.

I'm like most and collect whatever catches my eye. I try to focus on silver, around 31 grams (one ounce) and proofs, but it is very hard - not all countries make commems/proofs and many like to make them in the 15-20gm weight. And I also try to buy coins that say something about the country that made them - so I wouldn't be interested in a Liberian commemorative of the first moonwalk (I think Liberia probably has enough interesting history of its own).
And then I have the bad habit of just buying whatever I like anyways! It's so hard to budget when you want almost everything!!!!!!!!!

I'm like Snooba and collect everything. I purchase bags of coins to go through. Just purchased 10 lbs of world coins to sort and such. Need to order more supplies. Kids love to help me, and since most of the coins are already beat up I don't worry about them degrading the coins like I do w/ my US collection.

Today I became a member of this community. I collect since childhood when I became 8 and made my first journey abroad to Spain (I live in the Netherlands); nowadays I am 40 years old and obtain a little collection of 19000 different types of coins from Roman Times until yesterday. I manage to collect 41 different Roman emperors which I can afford. Apart from that I have a little collection of 250 Local Dutch Town Money (1975-2007).Also I have some composers on medals, banknotes and coins.

I collect U.S., Canada, Australia and Euro, especially the silver euro, but have coins from all over the world. I try to keep up with 1 ounce bullion issues from U.S., Canada, China, Great Britain and Australia. Always looking for world wide classics as the "old ones" aren't being made any more!! For the most part, if I like it I NEED it!
