Wow, what a cool coin forum. I just found this sub forum today. Wish I would have known about it sooner. There are some great stories and some pretty awesome finds. Here in Alaska we don't find many musket balls, but we do find other really cool stuff. When my wife and I find things, we just put them in front of our house in a little rock garden my wife built. It's all covered in the fall leaves right now. I tried to get the best pics I could. Some of the notable things we've detected are a small game trap, a mules shoe I believe. Some pickaxes, a few hand tools, some glass, and a piece from the railroad tracks that were destroyed by the tsunami in Seward, Alaska in 1964. It's kinda like a where's waldo pics when you look more you'll see more Hope you all enjoy!

Cool stuff. I love Alaska.
So vast. You could possibly find many interesting
things there. Don't forget to go all metal mode.
I hear that there's some gold around up there.

Yeah, there's a little gold around. We found a couple nice nuggets and went back with our gold pans. This was about 2 days worth. We go back whenever we can afford to get out for a long drive.

Nice finds. I am just getting started in metal detectors. Did you find those nuggets with a detector? I went sniping (crow bar, spoon, screwdriver, tweezers) on the Applegate in southern Oregon last weekend. Didn't find as much as you. Fooled around with a detector. More detector searching to come on old mining camps around Jacksonville, Grants Pass, etc.
