A 1912-P Lincoln Cent. It was only in G-4 condition, but I couldn't help imagining what that coin had witnessed in the last 101 years. How many times it was spent (and on what), how many owners it had, etc.
In 1912, William H. Taft was US President (Woodrow Wilson was elected in November), World War I was still 2 years away, the Titanic sunk, and the cost of a first-class postage stamp was only 2 cents.
