I had an insert in a magazine yesterday, the day after I found my first V nickel. I got a good kick out of the first line as I read it. "Long vanished from circulation..." I know the average person not looking through boxes probably won't find some of them, but they are still out there! Figured it was worth a picture.

These are such a joke. They make me mad. When I was a kid my mom bought me some of these sets. The profit margins on these things is ridiculous! They sell sets like that a lot of times for 20-30$, but can make one for a buck.

Some coin companies sell gimmicky, overpriced sets that no educated person would buy. You have to look closely: the steel cents are reprocessed, the nice large cents in the fancy holders "don't meet industry grading standards", circulated silver Rosie's for $12.95, colorized coins, and little sets that cost an arm and a leg just because its all the WW2 years or something. This "long gone from circulation" set is just another one of those. Justin, mind telling us the price of it?

If I remember right, it was still ridiculous, but it wasn't as bad as you think. I can't remember the exact price. Maybe $5 or so? It may have been a few payments of $5 though.

Just $5 isn't too bad. Its probably about six payments of $5.95 plus $20 shipping and handling though.

Yeah probably so. I might still have it, I'll have to look.

I think it was $5... it is the same thing they always do though-- try to get you to buy from them once so they can market the higher priced things to you later!
My cost: $0.11 haha

That's the beauty of coin roll hunting. You can get the coins you want for face and have more fun in the process. Its like playing the lottery, except you win a lot but hardly lose any money.

It is better than the lottery! The lottery will not let you return your losing ticket and get your money back.
