I wish my camera could take pictures of coins... Well... if it did work... I would post a picture for every date 1920-2013 (excluding 1922). I'll just sit back and watch...

And to go 500 years back (like last time), you're looking at 500+ Days
The original thread is now 931 days old.

It is official, one year per day. My original post has been updated.

We are on 2009, but anyone can post 2008 to change it. Only post 2008 coins until after midnight when we will allow 2007.

Forum Time, of course (look for the clock at the top right of every page).

For the record, Forum Time is US Eastern Time.

Do you guys all have a sophisticated method of taking coin photos?

I want to be able to do the same but I don't have the money for SLR cameras, ring flashes and a backlit surface for the coin plus a tri-pod.

I just use an ordinary digital camera. Get as close as I can and try to hold it steady!

All my photos are hand-held tabletop shots using a 15-year-old Sony Mavica. Not catalogue quality but gets the job done better than a pencil tip rubbing!

Since the day is almost done with no one is offering up anything for 2006, I shall nudge the double post prohibition aside with this bit of food for a hungry thread:
