I really, really wish the design on slide 17 was chosen.

Thats slide show of designs is exactly why I dont like the cent. Other than maybe design 11 the one they picked was my least favorite by far. Had I not seen what was possible I probably would like it. Knowing what could have been though makes me start off with a bias against it

I like it! I was never a big fan of memorializing buildings on currency or coin anyway. One that I hate, on the other hand, is the newer Jefferson portrait on the nickel. Now that is just ugly.

I like it much more than the LMC and a little less than the LWC.

I voted that I like the Shield cent, but that was before I had seen the slide show, I really like #17, that would have been a great design.

Better than the "trolley car" LMC, but not as good as Brenner's LWC.

The shield design's simplicity works well for a zinc business strike coin, and does look good in Proof as well.

Some of the more intricate designs floated around would have made fantastic Proofs, but as business strikes, not so much.

I like the shield design, but it would look better struck in real copper.

I'm not sure anything struck in Cu-Zn would look good.

Not totally unhappy with it but could have been better. Originally 10 design choices-6 of the capitol building-2 shields and 2 eagles. I personally like the eagle one with the motto "One country-One destiny" on the reverse. Of course if the COIN ACT passes there probably won't be any around anyway. Also it seems to me that all the shield cents are lower quality anyway. Opened an uncirculated bank roll of 2012Ps yesterday and every coin was toast-spots, blemishes, hairlines. Earlier this year I bought a 2010pd set off ebay and sent them back because of the spots. Maybe that's why tne NGC price guide has my 2010 ms66 at $140
