cheeky seller, wanted to charge £5 plus £5 for posting two coins......well I had something to say on the matter. He has now reduced postage to £5, but its still a rip off...it'll cost him £2.50 to post them. I feel seller ratings may have to be completed. I hate it when sellers try and make cash on the postage!!

I sell coins on ebay, charge $5 postage (not 5 pounds since I am US-based), and lose money on just about every package I ship. Between the cost of shipping supplies, postage, insurance, ink for the printer and gasoline to drive to the post office, it's a losing proposition. And every week there is always someone who complains about my excessive shipping and handling charges (and usually it's the same buyer who just got the coin for a pittance and winds up not paying anyhow, so it just adds frustration to the mix).

Anyhow, glad to hear you won the coins. Please be gentle with the seller so he won't lose hope and give up selling.

Best,
John

I just started selling on ebay and charge relatively little for shipping, 2 bucks to Canada and 3.75 to the States. I haven't insured anything yet but haven't sold anything of too high value.

For me the envelope is 30c and post is 1.34 to Canada and 2.64 to the States, the flips I usually ship in I think I paid 15c each. I dont have to pay for gas since I bus to work at a University which has a Canada post on campus. So, it isn't too bad for me.

When I buy I account for shipping and John you charge peanuts compared to some. ;)

The value of the coins is under £50 so insured already with standard signed for service...
