My point exactly and is why I mentioned it in my original posting. Based on that alone I assume that the current condition of the coin is not the same as when it was slabbed. Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 12/04/2013 07:01 am I have seen a LOT of early mint set quarters with ugly toning AND fingerprints like those slabbed at those high grades by the TPG's. I don't think the prints developed after slabbing. It is just a very high grade ugly coin. Report this Post to the Staff

Some types of toning can be attractive, but I'm not feeling this one at all. MatthewVincent mentions dipping, would a dip remove a print? I ask because I have a common Peace dollar, BU, with a print that I bought a long time ago thinking acetone would remove it. That is when I found out about the permanence of fingerprints.
