Just dropping by with this undated (ca.1812-15) "Victoria Nobis Est" halfpenny, featuring Britannia seated. The legend means "Victory Is Ours."
The portrait remains unidentified but is widely believed to be Horatio Nelson.
If you can get past the splotchy lustre, any thoughts on grade would be appreciated. I'm thinking EF, but I've only seen a few to compare against. Charlton LC-49A, Breton 982, Withers 1595.

Very nice, daltonista. I'll say EF for the grade.

Yes, I think Xf as well, with the wear on the cheeks, jowls, hair on Horatio and the legs, head and arms on (Liberty?)

Nice example @daltonista. Those are also found overstruck on Guppy halfpennies.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
From the "Hiberno-Canadian" wing of my Pre-Confederation collection, this 1805-dated one-penny token is known to have circulated in Lower Canada during the first half of the 19th century.
Interestingly, as beat-up as my specimen looks, the one in the Charlton token catalog (11th edition) could be its identical twin, so I guess their reputation for scarcity is well-deserved.Breton 975, Charlton AM-2 (Anonymous & Miscellaneous), Withers BCT 1905, Davis 54 (Dublin).

My thanks to everyone in this forum over the last X months for all your compliments about my collection and for your help with properly attributing and grading the many tokens I've posted.
Also: Beautiful Maggie, Gene! Got my envy meter ticking since I've never gotten past VF (mainly because it doesn't fall within the boundaries of my "real" collection).

This is my latest buy / project. A friend sent me a box of 399 tokens for evaluation / offer. Collection is probably 50 years old. This will keep me busy for a while. I'll post pix of some of the more interesting pieces later.
