and were back, forgive me if the wording in the question is not the best it could be. Q: in 1859 cents were being struck for the province of Canada....due to the fact that the last digit on the dies were hand punched there was a blunder, if it was not corrected there would be a third year of cents for the province of Canada. what would that year be and what is the over date that shows us this almost happened?

It is worded a little weird but I think you're implying we might have accidentally had a 1856 penny?  The overpunch would be the '9' of course.

okay, were back. this one is a fill in the blank.
an 1858 5 cent, 10 cent or 20 cent piece with an un-reeded edge due to a flat collar can only be a________.

lets go in a different way....if you see an 1858 5 cent piece certified by ICCS with the comment "plain edge" the first two letters in the grade can only be _ _
