I think the language they use for the obverse side is Latin.

The 1939 dollar? That's the earliest one I can think of where the usual design is changed and "Fide Suorum Regnat" is written on top.

Here is a trivia question. Canada has issued many commemorative coins but has only issued two commemorative banknotes. Can you name the two commemorative banknotes.
