So I have an 1870 Newfoundland 10 cents obverse 2 variety. My question is - is the obverse 1 or the obverse 2 variety the rarer one?

Coins and Canada says the obverse 2 is rarer (http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins...s-1865-1947)

I have a potential buyer saying that that info is wrong, Canadian Coin news has the obverse 1 as the rarer variety.

Can anyone weigh in on this?

THANKS!

Obverse 1 is the rare type. Obverse 2 is still a hard coin to find & nice to have.
