Hmmm, maybe not the worst coin but a really bad auction. They say it's mint state 68 and a small motto key and they provide plenty of pics but in the end I have my doubts.

The zero feedback seller must have removed that gem from its PCGS MS-68 holder, in order to take better pictures of the coin.

Now here is a listing that is different from the terrible ones we have seen so far. What impresses me is the obvious clarity and details you can see, the impressive amount of pictures posted of it, but perhaps most of all the professionalism in his detailed description of it....

"I have had this cin in my collection for almost 30 years. Many people have offered to purchase this beauty...I thnk I can let er' go for the BUY now price of $5559.00"

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1907-GOLD-...AOSwB9damebP

You can bet that I'm getting in on this action! I don't know what "this beauty" looks like, but you can't let little things like that get in the way of a smart business deal.

Possibly a hijacked account? Longtime seller, plenty of positive feedback, none in the last 12 months, and suddenly the gem of the ages. The listing also claims NGC certification for the beauty.

item number on the same line by itself where the shipping / payments area is, all the way to the right.

Maybe it is a highjacked account? No real seller of a valuable coin like that one is supposed to be would just post one picture that you can't make out and just one line of description that is not really a description. I messaged the seller last week and told him that the picture was not able to be seer, suggested another picture of the reverse or obverse, a little more description, etc. no response. ? It does look kinda funny that a longtime ebayer would list like this, putting his thumb on the coin is also a clue?

In any case, I think I have raised a new standard bar for this thread... not just crappy coins and listings, but now coins you cannot even see. We're at a whole new level now here folks.

Seriously, the more I think about it the more bogus I think it is.

1. only one photo
2. cannot make out what the one photo shows
3. weird sales pitch, not typical of a regular coin seller anyways.
4. only 1 line of description
5. no answer or response to my message or fixing of listing.
6. thumb on coin

I am not saying that a few of those points would make a listing bogus, not everyone can list competently, but add them up and think would a real coin seller do ALL of that? I do not think so personally. What I can't figure out is why did not the seller, if he or she was bogus, just drop in a quality stock photo or two from the internet instead of a listing that is practically guaranteed not to sell? Any ideas?

Yep fortcollins, the feedback too, nothing for over a year, either as a seller or buyer. Funny thing tho, on the last transaction as a seller there is a negative feedback for the seller not sending a coin that was paid for, over a year ago. If this listing is bogus and it is looking more and more likely, it looks like whoever took over his account started over a year ago. but again, why no listings since then until this one? No other items of his or hers on auction either. just plain strange. If this person is a scammer, they are not very good at it. Even the India IRS scammers are much better... "The IRS police are on their way to your house with a warrant for your arrest right now"! I could never figure out how come the police just happened to be coming over at the same time I responded to the email hahaha.

Wow, that's one heck of a crappy picture. You can't even see the coin. The seller seems to be pretty sketchy.

This seller spent more time telling me why she couldn't post better pictures than the time it takes to post better pircures.

I looked at the other auctions, and the close up pictures are indeed terrible and poor quality.
