I'm glad the seller mentioned this Barber Half was a Details coin, because I may not have noticed the damage.

What a shame!

Perhaps we should have a thread for the "Saddest, Most Lamented Coins on ebay".

This was a beauty before whatever happened to it happened to it.

Perhaps it got run over by a Model T Ford or a San Francisco cable-car, or got damaged in the 1906 earthquake?

Yes, NumisRob, since this 1905 coin was minted in San Francisco, it could easily have been marketed as a possible "earthquake coin." But let's not give the seller any ideas...

This "superb" error coin looks just like a normal Franklin.

It looks like it's in one of the new, invisible ANACS slabs, too.

UNCIRCULATED 1936 CLEVELAND CENTENNIAL/GREAT LAKES EXPO commemorative 1/2 dollar. Shipped with USPS First Class Package. **Tarnished from storage with other coins.

( If this is uncirculated, I'd hate to see those other coins in storage! )
