But that is the rare NFW PFNNY error (Gashes obliterating the e's)  That coin could be unique as its the only one that has been run over by a steam roller then thrown in a mulcher to survive. The 1918 Penny is hilarious  I am waiting to see if that fool responds too. All of these coins -  |

I just checked those Sac dollars and that seller's feedback is -2 now. They didn't send those dollars, haha. I've never seen a negative feedback rating.

The seller above that sold 33 Sacagawea dollars for $20 + free shipping has negative feedback on the sale. Paul, I'm pretty sure that no gold British sovereign was involved, but that Denver quarter was possibly driven over by a British vehicle in a Holiday Inn Parking lot. It never ceases to amaze me how people keep on advertising British bi-metallic £2 coins with 'minting errors'! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/22412002...l_noapp=trueYou often see listings where the seller claims that the coin has a 'rare error' because the edge lettering is the wrong way up! This is nonsense because the edge lettering is applied to the blanks before they are struck. After receiving the edge lettering, the blanks go into a giant hopper which feeds them by gravity between the dies. Whether a blank goes between the dies with the edge inscription one way up or the other is completely random. Another so-called 'error' that some sellers mention is where the ring of dots around the Queen's portrait on the obverse is partly missing, or is partly on the silver-colored inner disc and partly on the yellow-colored outer ring. These are normal variations that just depend on how the coin has been struck, and do not give the coin any additional value. I've just looked through a random bag of 20 £2 coins from the bank, and 19 of them exhibited this 'error'. A really nicely centered coin where the dots are all on the inner disc is probably a genuine rarity! |
