What do you think? With all that luster, it's gotta be MS grade, no?

I was thinking an auto buffer myself, notice how it's not impacted the lower (field) 'details'.

Do you think the TPG's might give these coins a details grade?

Actually, I think they will be the oldest coins to receive the ultra-rare MS-71.634 grade.

This is not listed on ebay... yet. It's one of my coins and I'm trying to use this thread to help me grade and judge the value.

I really think this is the 1887-S/S RPM FS-501. There are things in the area of the mint mark that could be an S over S, right? Based on the other coins in this thread, the grade of XF to AU is about right. I'm thinking I should start the auction at say, ummm, maybe $1100.00 and let the bidders battle it out from there.

Let me know what you think!

Ben

Here we're laughing at really bad coins (or bad ebay descriptions)
Probably not the place to get a serious discussion going?
Anyway, thanks to everyone keeping this thread light and fun!

Yes! Sorry. I don't really think this coin is worth anything other than a percentage of silver melt.

None of the coins in this thread have much value. I was just trying to add one of my own coins to the list. I would NEVER have the guts to put it on ebay for any amount, I just wanted to show off my WORST coin.

Sorry if I caused a problem!

Ben

I don't trust shipping outside of the US, but for a small personal handling fee (First Class, Non-Stop, to New Jersey to Sydney and back.) I have to bring my wife, as she's my bodyguard, I'll give you a discount on the coin so it'll only be $1000.

Shipping fees are a touch high, but we found the following:

Philadelphia to Sydney
2 Adults
Thursday July 31, 2014 - - " Friday August 8, 2014
Your Trip Price:
$48,802.00 USD
Baggage and Optional Charges

I don't know where you are, but we'll rent a car and drive it to you, (car rental charges will be extra) and I'll even add in a couple of extra coins as "Bonus Coins" for free.

OH! We will need a place to stay, so if you would give us the details on a good 4-Star Hotel, that would help. (Hotel charges extra.)

All in all I sure we're looking at no more than $100,000 for the coin, with hand to hand personal delivery and, now that I think about it, I'll just throw in ALL my other coins and get them to you as soon as possible.

Thanks for asking!

I will need the money up front, but you have a full 6 hours to return the coin (and return all the bonus coins) so how can you lose!

Let me know and I'll send you my PayPal info.

I'll be holding my breath waiting for your reply!

Ben
