I'm not sure if anyone has posted this coin in this thread yet. The seller has lowered the price over the last year or so of posting. I think they started with $125,000.00 as a raw coin. 281390686000It's just a Grease Filled Die, but like the old Brylcreem ad said "A Little Dab'll Do Ya!" (For those of you who don't remember this ad, it's from when I was a kid... years ago!" Ben

$125K and now just $80K - WHAT A DISCOUNT... and here I thought my white whale was a case of a seller with an absurd sense of value - listed BIN$300 for a year and finally put to auction where it went for a single minimum bid...

Does a coin like that have any numismatic over melt value with such a whopping hole? On that Greaser quarter--the slabbing fee is higher than value.

What...what happened to that steel cent? There are just so many things wrong with this...it's like every kind of PMD is on this coin. And the seller with 98.4% positive feedback is calling it a "DIE MisFunction" listed for almost $2000... Rollsearcher37, I think you've won the thread.

Quote: At that price, it's a "steel"! I suspect it was once a steel sandwich: train track, coin, and wheel.

"Die error" and grammar expert! It's "one of a coin"! Quote: Obviously there was a major error in the minting of this coin.
One of a coin. You might not see one like this no time soon. ....and you might not learn to not use double negatives in your sentences! LOLOLOL

How COULD ANACS even agree to put their name (and reputation) on this mess?

I think they ran out of room to write all the things wrong with that poor coin.

Maybe I'll buy it if it stays cheap. It's got to be rare and collectible to have a coin with so many "details" qualifiers. :)
