Slightly off of the "Worst Coins", these have to be in the "Worst Price" category. I saw a website listed at the bottom of an ebay coin listing in the "Sponsored Links" area. As you can see it's a pair of cufflinks made from a pair of coins.

Not a bad looking product, but then I saw the price! The site has 100s of US and world coins, tokens and "Hand Painted" coin cufflinks... all for the low price of $150.00 per pair! Just wow!

I was in the gift shop at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield, IL, and they had similar cufflinks with 1909 LWCs for the bargain price of $99.95.

$150 is too much for soldering some coins on cheap, mass-produced links.

I've seen a market trader in New Zealand who performs all sorts of weird and not so wonderful things with coins.....from cuff-links to rings and beyond....but at least his prices are a little more realistic, and judging by his van he's only scraping a living.

At least it wasn't a 1901-S (or even worse, a 1892-O)... I've seen some coin rings done very well, and some coin designs make better rings than others.

I buy holed and damaged coins to make rings. When I first started making them, I bought several XF/AU coins on ebay to make into rings, but I didn't have the heart to punch a hole in them.

I have found lots of damaged and holed coins on ebay even in MS condition to keep me happy.

I'll let undamaged coins live, but if someone has already killed it, I feel it's okay to give it a little more life as a ring.

Warning - the video doesn't show how they are made, it's just a sales brochure

How many of the really bad items are claimed to be uncirculated? I see high quality claims on MS3 items too often.

This is a wonderful Second life for a low grade coin. I'd love a collection of coin rings. The how to video was very interesting to bad he never mentioned how many hrs it took to make one ring, or the name of the polish. His tip was very good in suggesting to start by using a common circulation quarter. Thank you for posting both videos.
