How come on the blue and red seal notes the star is placed at the beginning of the S# and on the green seal notes the star is placed at the end of the S#?

I've noticed that as well but I have no explanation either. So with my curiosity peaked I googled the question and I did find this addy... http://www.uspapermoney.info/general/number.html .......which I found quite interesting. Hopefully this will shed some light on the subject.,
