Side by side, the toned version does have a stronger strike.

I only need one of each "type", although I do have an "untoned" Type II Buffalo (1938 D/S).

Toned one definately. Mine in not, but Grandma got it when it was new at the banks in 1913 and it has sentimental value, though I would prefer your coin.
