Sabre I wanted to say Congrats with your submission results it sounds like the $5 gold piece is the big ticket item not to diminish the Double Eagle any.

I may not be able to own either of these, but I am rooting for you

that is amazing. I would love to make you an offer on the coin if I had that kind of dough....as I am in dire need of one for my set. My 11-d and 08-S are also graded in the AU range. I will probably have to settle for a problem example or low XF, but even those are getting out of hand these days.

I'd really like to hang on to these, but not going to be possible. I already have a inquiry in with GreatCollections to find out what they think is the best way to proceed.. Would really have preferred to find someone local with cash, of course. ;)

Congrats on the grade! I am sure you will do well on Great Collections, coins there seem to go for a decent (but fair) price. Do you have any pictures of the Double Eagle to share?

Well, I DID have scans and pics before I sent it off to PCGS, but deleted them when I got them back. Best I can do is a few pics of the slabbed coins..

I may be sending in several other more common dates to be graded, I'll be sure to post them here first!

Just shipped to GreatCollections. Really hate to see them go, but really need the $$ for a potential business start-up if I can get the rest of the funding and logistics lined out.

Both will sell on Great Collections in another day and a half or so. Hoping for a few more bids!

Both are doing really well Sabre. The prices are out of reach for me but I'm watching them.

Awesome result! I'm a bit late to the thread, but was this an ebay pickup? I saw the link in the original post but it is dead. Was the coin properly listed as an O?

The half eagle ended at $11,155 and the double eagled ended $6,061. The were listed on great collections.
