Though I have a higher end example in my collection, I saw this one for a great price, and pulled the trigger. These are the seller's pics, and I think it may have had a light cleaning....but I will know for sure once I get it in hand. What are your thoughts of grade and cleaning based off of these pics?

Thanks for your opinion. Out of curiosity, have you seen any other certified VF-30/35s with a head that strong?

AU53 or 55 depending on luster. It may be the pictures that make it look like its been fried from dipping. I think you have a good shot at a nice coin.

I think it's mid AU, the toes are intact and the head is strong.
The picture looks as though it does not have original surfaces and the pic is probably accurate.
It always freaks me out when high grade coins are cleaned, "why did they do that"?
Not that I wouldn't want it because I would, after all I do see the 'd'

Upon studying it, it may have been very dark based on the residue on the stars, rim and thigh.
Rest in Peace

I agree that it likely has been cleaned. The question is how bad. Hard to tell from the scans. I paid $75 for it, so it seemed worth. the risk at the au level

I lean towards an EF-45. The pictures seem to suggest a cleaning but it's tricky to tell for sure.
