I like that coin and its coloring a lot and I'm not at all convinced it's AT.
I have non-USA coins of similar vintage with similar coloring that I *know* were not meddled with in any way, just stored for a long time in undisturbed environment that somehow contributed to the unusual toning.
If that coin were available at a fair price, I'd snap it up.
That's a fairly common year/mint for that 5 franc piece, so I'd say if you find the coloring objectionable, search around a bit for a nice un-toned one and trade me the 'ugly one.

I actually like it too. As I said, in hand the colors don't jump out and are noticable only when tilted. However, what happens as the toning progresses? I assume it will just turn black. How soon? I guess that depends on storage conditions and what I eat.
