i noticed an auction on a popular auction site for a £1 coin with an error on the et tutamen writing that goes around the edge of the coin

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261383310....m1497.l2649

is it really worth £100? I was going to bid on it?

Given how often those coins are counterfeited (a poorly-formed edge inscription being typical for counterfeits), I'd not give 20p for it.

Pretty common error on these coins, probably a chip on the collar. Definitely not £100.

It's not worth double figures, let alone treble. Common.
