Bump  How about a round two? Quote:

I would get an 1837 no stars dime and half-dime, 1823/2 Dime, 1873 Arrows Dime, 1873 Arrows Quarter, 1838 Bust Half Dollar, 1873 Arrows Half Dollar, 1873 Seated dollar, all in mid to low grades so that they are in the budget requirements. This would take out about a third of the holes left in my LoC Type Set. |

Lots of good suggestions here. My advice is to be sure the $ are applied toward your specific collecting goal. Having a focus will save you some frustration later by accumulating a collection that is too diffused. I'm a type collector and my focus is to obtain pieces that distinctively show a coin's design and that pleases my eye. I typically avoid rarity coins since that would likely result in more design wear for the dollars spent. So, if you're similar to me in my objective, then you could have these two common pieces with a distinctive look for $500:   |

Since this is a bump ... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1919-D-Walk...em2a3ae5dcb31919 Denver coins are an overlooked investment opportunity. Eye appeal above all for a higher grade circulated set. Reason? WWI has ended and the need for large numbers of coins fell off. So did mintages from Denver.  Edited by matthewvincent

I would use the $500.00 and my money to buy a 1913 S Type 2 in AU-55.

With $500 I would probably buy all circulated Franklin 1/2s! Or a lower grade 1909sVDB to complete the cent book!
