I had to euthanize my boxer last week because he had cancer , so to help keep my mind off of it I have been going through my coins. I noticed a coin I bought during the summer listed (Vespasian As with the obverse IMP CAES VESP AVG PM TR P COS VIII with the reverse AEQVITAS AVGVST). I had few coins coming in all at once and I only paid $30 so I never got around to checking it out at the time. As I was looking at it I seen a T between IMP and CAES, that would make it Titus RIC 121. What do you guys think?
As Ben has already noticed it is recognizably 'Tito' even without the legend ! Nice portrait too. You got a great bargain. Aequitas is a common reverse type but what the hey ! Good enough.
Thanks FR, I had to look around to see what kind of bargain I got off the mislisting. It's my first Titus, good ones are always to high for me (for an emperor that I'm not that into). It was a good bargain, not a Gordian ii, but still good.
Sorry about the loss of your friend Dwayne, I lost one of my TTs at the beginning of January for the same reason, so been there, done that, got the T Shirt etc, it is very hard...
But your coin is stonking, I don't have a Titus yet, yours is fabulous, congats :)
