They might have to call it a replica to sell it at that exhorbant price. Even the Reverse Proof Zodiacs sell for a $10-$15 premium, and hold their value, which I doubt this will.

I dunno, I was just looking at this coin from the stand point that I really like the clean look, I dont have any maples like this and the privy, I think is one of the best they ever have done.

That said, I think down the road it has a shot at increasing in value.

For what it's worth, I have several privy SMLs and the only one in my collection that is even close to as nice as this one is the 2009 F12.

IMO, it's simply much nicer than run of the mill privy marked coins - even those with reverse proof finishes.

BTW, SML enthusiasts might want to check this out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0k2xJ0gHyHs

I think people are used to paying $50-100 for silver maple privy coins. I truly don't believe this coin will be a loser in the long run. But ether way I wouldn't care because I'd need it for my maple collection regardless. It's a nice clean maple with a unique privy. Heck I hope it doesn't sell well, it'll keep that mintage relatively low in comparison to other maples.

Completelly agree.
Although I do not need every SML for the collection, but this one certanly I do like.

I will put for these issues ("Replica" + COA + packaging) almost the same weight as coloured 2001-2007 SML.
I remember, 2 years ago, before I got them, I thought that will not pay ~$150 (2006, 2007) for the "premium edition of bullion coin"....yeah, only thought

this coin also came in today...

very happy with it, first ever reverse maple for me. To me, the WMF privy is special as this is a great coin show that kicks off many coins.

I love the finish, have no complaints at all!!

Again, I want to hat tip Mr Silveroid who pointed me in the direction to get this coin.

@Silveroid

well, again, I do appreciate the help in finding both coins.

This maple is my first ever reverse proof and its just stunning looking at it in natural daylight and under lighted conditions you really can appreciate how it looks and the detail the leaf has, even tho its a very simple clean look.

The privy mark is very very nice and one of my favorites. The only other maples I had collected in the past were bullion and one had a privy mark, which I dont remember now what one it is.

I just bought 2 of these from Colonial and both have marks/scratches on the Queen's face.

Anybody else's SMLs like this? Should I return? If yours are like this as well I wont bother returning.

WMF Privy has the 4th lowest mintage of any privy at 7500. (Tulip - 3500, certain F12/15 - 5000, Victory in Europe/Japan - 7000).

I hope you are not saying this with a straight face but the issue price is $79.95. At $83, your return is $72 after 13% ebay fees.

A couple went for $77 a few days ago:

But they are nice looking coins so I will be keeping one and returning a couple other.

yea 83 bucks would be the correct price because you have to factor in the shipping... thats more than even other retail dealers...

I ordered two and had trouble selling the other because of the 'replica' name.

Personally, I've always liked the reverse proof but never subscribed to obtaining each one, just those that meant something.
