Ralph- it still amazes me that you have assembled 3 complete sets of Morgan dollars. Some rich guy should just give you an 1895-P out of pure respect.

Here are a couple of 1880-P oddities. Philadelpia repunched dates on several of their obverse dies in 1880 (1880 over 79). The result was a windfall for VAM enthusiasts. Here's an example of the VAM 6 "spikes" overdate. It's not super rare (except in high MS) but interesting. Now a super-rare VAM 8 "ears" overdate. The 8/7 is extremely subtle and hard to discern. Here are close-ups of the key diagnostics: 8/7 Overdate Die Scratch on Eagle's right wing

Darth Morgan.....yeah, wouldn't that be a kick? I'm happy to see this thread started - I've posted the album pages in previous threads, but this one will give me the opportunity to show scans of the individual coins - also, give the variety seekers a little something extra to do, if they choose to inspect each coin for varieties. A note to all - when I started collecting Morgans back in early 2005, I started scanning the obverse and reverse, and saving the scans in my computer - some of the scans you'll see here date back to that time, and the quality of some of them is less than others. Another thing - when I update my first set, I transfer the duplicates to the next set, and that duplicate to the next - sometimes I fail to remember to change the pictures to the appropriate set on my computer. If you happen to notice that I've posted two scans of the same coin, I'd appreciate it if you'd point it out to me so I can straighten it out. Thanks.

My first post here fellas as I just discovered this site today. I don't even collect Morgans... I could count all I own on one hand. This is the best of the few I have and I got lucky to catch the right day. PCGS MS64

I was hoping the 1881-S I bought would have arrived today.
