Here's my idea.

1. Whoever can, meet in Hot Springs Arkansas Jan 13-15, 2006 for the Annual Tri Lakes Coin Club Show. Admission is free as most shows and they are advertising 100 tables. We should be able to come up with some sort of meeting time and place.

Those who were a part of the now defunct Coin World Forum may remember that we tried, without too much success, to get such a thing off the ground.

Being a retired teacher, I would be a little short on funds, but would make such an event if at all possible. What a pleasant thing to meet the people who make this forum a success!

My plug would be for Colorado Springs. Beautiful area. ANA Headquarters. A short drive to the U.S. Mint in Denver. Fairly central location as far as the U.S.A. is concerned.

Hope something works out. If so, I'll certainly try and be there!

I think we can get something together. Colorado Springs would be nice also. Well, I'm still going to Hot Springs and walk around in my CoinCommunity.Com T-Shirt. Hey, What's In Your Pocket? Jerry

Maybe you guys should get involved with the coin festivals that already go on in the different towns, like have a tables set promoting the website and seling coins and that sort of thing, wed attract alot more coin collectors.

Sounds like a lot of fun there. but for me my meetings will have to stay on here as I'm paralized. The bad thing about the whole coin deals is that I'm in such a small town no shows or shops.I don't mean to cry on a wwonderful event as I'm sure they'll be plenty to read when it's over.

jmb1956, are you able to travel at all? What are your limits physically? What small town do you live in? What can we do to help?

As we are an international forum, and many of us have limited finance for travel,

If we can not arrange an annual meeting - perhaps in conjunction with some other show,
Then how about this idea,

The members of the Aussie forum have a pin they wear identifying them as members of the forum and no matter what show or what country you are in, if you are wearing your pin, you are recognized by and can recognize other members of the forum.

How about it moderators have weh thought of having a forum badee(pin) for forum members?

Just another idea to help those who can't travel and it brings attention to the forum, creating good will and membership.

I have paid for one forum pin, I would be happy to pay for another.

Hi Richard, I think it is a great idea. What about design and manufacture? What kind of $$$$$'s are we talking. I still want to look into some kind of club meeting for next summer. Mike

As secretsquirrel was the person responsible for this in Australia, I will have him either post a picture and info here or contact you.

Mike, check this out. The ANA Worlds Fair money show is going to be held in Denver in August 2006. Maybe that will be a good first get together.

Like Jmb1956 and rggoodie said some of us can't travel far or at all and I like rggoodies ida so why dont we combine? Those of us who want can set up tables at shows and maybe raise some money by selling coins ( could help with $$$ for the pins) and those who just want to go to shows can wear pins. But this doesn't really solve a meeting problem. Just a suggestion.:)

FORUM LOGO & BADGE

for those familiar with the aussie coin forum
you will recognize this as the forum logo.
Any-Ideas-For-A-Coin-Community-Meeting-?
You should note that the background of the mob of roos is the image of what is on the Australian dollar coin.

This is what the forum pin looks like
Any-Ideas-For-A-Coin-Community-Meeting-?
it is 1 1/8 inches in diameter & has a pin back
on the back is engraved the year the member joined the forum and the members forum name i.e. rggoodie not Richard.

We proudly wear them to coin shows and other functions where we want to be identified and identify each other. Cost in Australian dollars was AU$15.00 whic at todays conversion rate is US $11.35.

Susan is interested in your opinions for this forum to have a pin (badge)
