I have about 30 dollars to go through ranging from '53 to '66. I just wanted to "calibrate" my thinking with others..

I am thinking only VF30. The wear on the canoe would maybe suggest otherwise but the wear on the obverse downgrades it?

Pleae let me know what you think...

Thanks!

This would be higher than VF-30, the obverse looks to be a weak strike. Hard to judge but I'm guessing this is in the XF-45 range.

I think it's a EF-40, The variety is NSF WL which means no shoulder fold, water lines.

Thank you, I originally had in the range of EF-AU. but after taking another look at the obverse, changed my thinking, not thinking about a weak strike. Then started second guessing... thanks for your input, much appreciated.

I'd have to place a VF35 as well.

I agree
I don't think any coin should be 'melted' unless it's so bad you can't see the date or make out the legends.

BTW, Steve your coin looks EF-40 to me.
