The Sac/Washington doesn't really have the Sac Obverse. They are both reverses. (Well I guess one was a heads. But both showed the denomination a $1.25 coin.) But the one I was thinking of is the Sac Cheerios Dollar:

A closer look at the difference:

So you have a Cheerios cent and dollar combination. But you can't see the reverse. Not all are the special 1999 type reverses. So you don't want to open it because it will loose collector value. So how can you tell which is one has the reverse that you want?

Now the answer:

Now the kicker: How many were opened and spent? They could be out there still?

My apologies coop if I am restating what you mentioned above (I can't see your inkfrog images at work).

I read that you can tell if you have the "rare" reverse without opening your Cherrios Dollar Packaging, there is some die polish at the bust next to the mint mark.
