Very nice! The Buffalo was a good pull. As always, seeing another Eisenhower dollar makes me happy.

Holed, plugged, scratched, graffiti... I'm sure 50 cents was a lot in the early 1800s, so why would anyone deface something so valuable?

Thanks jbuck. I knew you would have something to say about the ike.
Cruisinfusion, I was wondering the same thing. I'm sure it's got quite a story.

Lol, I know I hated myself for buying it. So I have a chance of buying an 1808 Half Cent. I wanted to get a second opinion on what a fair price would be for the coin. I know it's impossible to determine a value of a coin with no pictures but bear with me here. It's probably in vg8 condition but with some corrosion in the fields. Full outline of the bust with very minute detail here and there. Full date and denomination and fraction. It's rather attractive for its grade but the corrosion is throwing me off a little. The guy is asking 95 and I can probably talk him down to 80 or 85. He has a little mom n pop shop in town and has hooked up some serious deals for me in the past (a 1694 William and Mary farthing for 5 bucks just to name one) so I don't mind helping out the small guy in town and paying a little more than normal or else I wouldn't consider buying it. I just wanted to know if you guys think it's an absolute rip off. Thanks!

Nice start! What I did on some of the coins to ensure they were genuine was to purchase ones with good eye appeal, but in "cleaned" or "genuine" TPG holders and cracked them out. I saved the stickers and taped them in the album. Coins to consider doing this would be Trade dollar, Seated Liberty dollar, and 20 cent piece. Good luck.

Thank you jbuck and nickelsearcher. Thanks for the suggestions jimbucks. That was my plan on those coins. I actually had an opportunity to buy a ttade dollar yesterday for 40 bucks but it was holed 3 times. I couldn't bring myself to it. What a shame though.
