Only 1 day left and it's only at $1469. I'd say he's going to lose a good chunk of money on it.

If you want - I'd be happy to report it myself. ebay does not take kindly to sellers doing crackouts, I've gotten a few taken down, as I know SuperDave has as well.

It is not illegal to crack a coin out of a slab on ebay. If you got something taken down it was likely due to the fact that there was proof the new listing was grossly mis-representing the coin. What if somebody bought a coin as a slab, cracked it out for themselves, then re-sold it later. What if somebody disagreed with the grade or description and thought it'd be better to sell raw because buyers sometimes mindlessly buy slabs.

It used to be against ebay policy to crack-out coins and sell them raw without pointing out the known defects. That all changed a couple of months ago when ebay member centsles was caught cracking out coins. Many were thrown off ebay for violating this policy, but, not centsles. Apparently centsles runs ebay.

That's what I thought, so the rules have changed for the crack out artists again? not for the collectors best interests it seems. SAD.

Looks like the "winner" just happens to have 100% of his bidding activity in the last 30 days with the reseller of this coin. Amazing!

Let's see how fast it gets listed again!

Wow, what a business

At least it's fairly easy to spot a shill, but most average buyers probably wouldn't be able to.

Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person then! I can't stand dealers that try and trick or deceive clients and customers that way!

Sold for less at $2125.00 and with his ebay fees he will have around $1850.00!

Looks like the buyers knew what they were getting and didn't run the price up either. Bet it will end up right back in a slab again too, the only ones really making money on this coin will be the grading companies slabbing it!

Udoubtedly a shill. I imagine his final shill was at least $2500, which would be required to surpass in order to break even. It will probably be relisted over and over. This seller should definitely be reported.

next go around I am putting a bid for $3,000 in and not paying. I'll tell ebay "ooops, my kid hit the button by mistake as the auction was ending". I could care less. I have several people who will do the same every time he lists it. we'll be the last minute bidders with the insane number only to not pay him and let the wheels of aggravation spin. he deserves it.

His problem now is the shill bidder only has a feedback of 5, difficult to list a high dollar coin with a 5 feedback.

I suppose he could re-list it himself and say he didnt receive payment from the shill bidder.

Or the shill could pay and the seller just return the $ under the table.

Then the seller would be stuck with the sellers fees.
