Well a 1925 D 2 1/2 PCGS MS 64 sold for $824 on ebay back in March, and NumisMedia has it at $890 so I would say $1115 is a little high. I would look at the sold auctions on ebay.

ebay is not the best gauge as it is unfair to the seller who loses 13% in fees. Conversely, the auction houses charge the premium to the buyer so you have to find it somewhere in between to get the actual value of the coin.

1925-D
HA hammered 5 PCGS MS64s between November and February at:

$1116
$940
$1058
$940
$1028

So his price is right in line with active auction rates at the major auction houses.

The last four PCGS 1929 MS64s in the exact same time frame as the above were:

$1116
$969
$940
$925

I'd go with the 1929 pcgs has it priced at $855.00 as I explained before go on heritage and look up 1973 d Lincoln ms67 rd. anacs sold for $30.00 and 2 pcgs sold for $3800 and 4800. On some coins I'll buy icg who cares but when it's real numismatics you can't beat pcgs. Being 2 dealers from Hawthorne I'm thinking same guy. I live in Nj Hawthorne to small for that coincidence. Anyoway he usually has best offer. Take a shot at $800. Coin World has ms64 at $1100. My choice 100%.

THanks. Its between the two quarter eagles for me. Personally I think the more expensive one looks nicer from the pictures, but its hard to tell. I need to hold of for a little while anyway until I am comfortable spending the money.
